The First Rule of Holes

As you know, it's that when you're in one, you should stop digging.  Elizabeth Warren steadfastly refuses to do so.

It may well be that her grandmother told her she was part Cherokee.  We all have family stories that have been handed down that are of dubious authenticity.  But that she used it to advance her career says something about her, and that she refuses to back down from it despite proof that there's no evidence to support it shows nothing but stubbornness.

It also may well be that this won't make a difference in the election.  We'll probably never know--no one's going to say "I voted for Brown because Warren claimed to be a Cherokee."  Still, it's one part of the puzzle, and it could have an impact.
