Don't Be Afraid to Win

Rush says on occasion that the Republicans have been in the minority for so long that some of them are actually uncomfortable with winning and prefer to be in the minority, where it's safe.  I'm starting to think there's a lot of truth in that.  There are all kinds of reasons to be optimistic about this election, but a lot of supposedly smart Republicans aren't.  Maybe, deep down, they really prefer to lose.
