about reducing government spending--and yes, that's a huge "if"--defense spending has to be part of the equation. I'm all for a strong military, but I'm quite sure there are things that could be cut without damaging our military preparedness if the people in charge of making those cuts are determined to do so. Which--stop me if you've heard this before--is another huge "if".
