What Difference Does It Make?

There have been all kinds of articles speculating about why Justice Roberts did what he did and whether he changed his vote at some point.  Folks, none of it matters.  Why he did it is irrelevant.  All that matters is that he did it.

That said, this vote has all the earmarks of someone who's more concerned about his "legacy" than about doing the right thing.  And you know what?  One of the truths of life is that when we do things to impress others, rather than because we think they're right, it almost never goes well.
