The author labels his proposal as facetious, but why not? Where's the flaw in the reasoning? If soda pop can be restricted, why not alcohol?
This is one of the biggest problems with big government--the sheer arbitrariness of it. There's no logical reason why some behaviors are allowed and encouraged, while others are banned and condemned. It's all just up to the feelings of whoever is making the laws and regulations.
