I have no problem with Mitt Romney attacking President Obama for specific things he's said and done. If it starts becoming too generalized, however, the media narrative will become "How dare you say that about the President of the United States?!!!" At that point, it won't matter what Romney's defense is. It won't even matter whether the things Romney's saying are true. It will be a distraction, it will get sympathy for the President, and it will keep us from talking about the economy. So, if Romney's going to take the gloves off, he needs to be careful about it.
